Hey guys! I've been out for a
while huh....(Nervous laughter) Anyway, I posted this fic on fanfiction.net and
it got a lot of great reviews. Thanks a lot. Anyway, my lazy ass has decided to
continue this fic. This part takes up from part 6. In part 6 Zechs and Noin were
about to duel. Go back and read the other chapters if you are quite lost. This
is short as hell! But I finally got it finished. Please forgive me! Laziness is
the ultimate sin of HELL!!!!!
Noin
had only been given two days to recover from Corinth's mage chains. She had been
fed well and although she had recovered well, she was still weak. When she woke
up, she remembered very little.
A senior healer checked her. "It looks
like you will be fine, although I can't guarantee that you will be in any shape
to go up against Zechs. Afterall, he is one of the strongest mages in the
Academy. Even the elders are afraid of him. Why, you should have seen the way
he-"
Noin cut him off abruptly.
"What do you mean...go up against
him. Why am I fighting Zechs? H-he saved my life." she protested, clearly
confused.
" You mean...they didn't tell you..."
"Tell me what, I
thought Zechs demanded them to let me go."
This conversation was starting
to scare her badly.
"Noin, Zechs chose to engage in a mage battle with
you. The mages of Lorn wouldn't have it any other way. If Zechs wins, he will
take care of you. If you lose, the council will kill you."
"Wait a
minute...kill me?! What threat do I pose to them? I did nothing except defend
myself against Alex. He would have killed me. And what is this about Zechs
taking care of me...am I to be his servant?"
The senior healer started to
stammmer, "I don't know, Noin...I, I"
"That's enough," Zechs stepped into
the room. "I'll take it from here"
The healer looked up startled by the
interruption. "Mage Zechs! Sir, she is recovering fast, but she still needs
rest."
"Thank you." Those two simple words held an undoubtable tone of
dismissal. The healer said his goodbyes and left. By this time, Noin was
confused, and undoubtedly angry.
"What the hell is all of this
about...What was he talking about Zechs?" She began to rise from the
bed.
"Noin..." Zechs said in warning. "Before, I explain anything, you
may want to cover yourself."
Noin blushed a deep red. During her
injuries, the healers had to undress her. Due to her worries, she hadn't even
noticed that she was still undressed. She hurriedly pull the sheet over her
exposed body.
Remarkably, Zechs kept his face passive, as he furiously
suppressed the images that came to his male mind. He couldn't help the fact that
Noin was gorgeous. He damn sure couldn't help the way his body was about to
react to just a peek of her wonderful body. But, there were more important
things to see to at the time.
"What the healer told you was correct. When
you are fully recovered, you are to fight me. That is what the council has
decided." He fell silent while he awaited the anger that was sure to follow his
remarks.
" But why?" Tears were welling up in her violet eyes. She
hastily blinked them away, refusing to let another mere man see any weakness in
her.
" What are my choices? Either I submit myself as a slave to you, or
I die?" she said incredulously.
" Correct." Zech was certain that his
calm demeanor would only anger her more, but he had to be cold. He would not be
cruel by giving her a false sense of hope. Thus, he ignored the wrench of his
heart as he could clearly see the tears of helplessness fall.
"The
council has decreed that we fight on three days from now in the main arena of
judgement. I know this is a hard choice for you, but-"
" What about Lorn,
has anyone tried to contact him...does he know of this?" She was desperate. Why
was this happening to her again?
"Lorn has not been seen since your
arrival, Noin. No one knows where he is..."
"Damn it Zechs! I refuse to
be another man's servant." All of her life, she had been used by someone, but
not this time.
"Noin, don't be stupid. Your pride will be the damn end of
you." He was getting frustrated. Didn't she understand the situation she was in.
It wasn't as if he was some sort of monster. As a matter of fact, he could think
of dozens of women who would have killed to be in his custody. (like me!!!)
(opps! my bad!!)
"Go to hell, Zechs. You're just like every other man in
this damned place. What is it with men and dominance? You can sit there and
speak so fucking calmly, but you've never had to go through half the shit I have
in my life. No more, I'll die before I'm anyone's slave ever again. That
includes you."
Zechs stared at her. Fuck it. Perhaps she needed to be
taught a lesson.
"So be it, I'll see you soon, Noin." With that he
kissed her hand. She jerked it away from him and glared at his retreating
form.
With no one left to disturb her solace, Noin finally gave in to the
tears that racked her body.
Would it be so bad to be Zech's ward? she
asked herself. Afterall, he was one of the most beautiful men she had ever seen.
But she knew from experience, that beauty could hold some of the worse evils a
human could hide. Still crying, she didn't notice the onslaught of the peaceful
oblivion that captured her weary body. She cried herself to
sleep.
Okay...okay,
I know that I've been promising a nice little duel between Zechs and Noin ever
since Part 5. Damn! That's one hell of a cliffhanger huh! But I promise.....the
next part is going down. YEAH! Bing Bing, Round one! Knock out! Tyson, beat
down, kung fu fightin and.....you get my point. And as all things, this will
only be done....as soon as my ultimately lazy ass does it. So until
then
