Of Gangs and Royals

JUST ANOTHER DAY - chapter one
~* Dream *~
Gun shots reign out all
around, screams can be heard from far away. She holds the small hand tighter as
she calls to her parents to hurry up, she sees them running each carrying a
small child in there arms, the twins, her father slips a little on the blood
soaked ground, but regains his balance. Shots are fired and she sees them fall,
and bleed. There's so much blood. They hit the pavement and she knows there dead
or will be in a few moments, she holds her little sister tightly as sobs rack
though her tiny frame. She kneels down and looks in her eyes and whispers '
Diana don't cry... I'll protect you ....' turns her head to look at her fallen
parents. 'Come on ... we have to go now....' she gets up and picks little Diana
up and puts her on her back and starts to run.

She sits upright, as the dream fades away, she looks around her little
room, children's toys litter the floor, she smiles at the thought of them, the
little ones, the dream now forgotten, she gets up and pulls on a black tank top
over her black sports bra and leaves the room, deciding that she'll try and find
some food for everyone today.
She walks into the small room and has been
dubbed 'the kitchen'; the walls of the room were covered in pictures that the
little ones have drawn, she smiles again. She is fairly surprised when she sees
two people sitting at the table, she stops and listens to them for a minute and
remembers her dream, the little girl that held her hand, her little sister,
Diana.
"You know Dee, I think that we should work together again, I mean
we got so much money yesterday, and you wanna know why!? Cause we double teamed
'em! Hahaha!" Duo Maxwell grins like a maniac and laughs like a psycho as he
high fives Dee. His one and a half meter long braid shakes as he
laughs.
Dee looks at him and laughs, "Sure Duo we can do that again, and
it was fun not having to work by myself."
She looks at 'Dee' and her
smile turns into a sad one as she now thinks of their names, their real names
that they don't go by. But that's all in the past. She steps out of the shadows
into the light of the early morning sun coming through the window, causing both
Duo and Dee to look at her, they both smile, she just nods her
head.
"Morning Luca!" Duo says with a grin.
"Morning sis!" Dee
says smiling a little.
"Morning. hey Duo what are you doing up, I thought
the day didn't start for you until noon?" she says laughing a little cause of
the look on his face.
"Oh HAHA Luca," Duo grumbles, both girls
grin.
"So Luca what are the plans for today? Cause if you don't need us
here, we were planning on going to the rich parta town and work there." Dee
says.
"Oh well.hn . nope I don't need you two here today, cause Poe and
Chang are stayin here today and hn. lets see Zero is going to work, and-" Duo
interrupts her.
"Where's Zero work?!"
"He got a real job, working
as a self defense teacher down at the community center, it's not much, but hey
whatever works!" she smile's, "anyway, Poe and Chang are staying here, Zero is
working, and Trowa is I think he's still in training for that guard position."
she shrugs.
"Luca I don't like the fact that he's trying to get a job
there, at the palace, I mean . where trying to not be found out here and he'd
just gonna walk up there and say what! Hey I live in an abandoned warehouse and
we have illegal electricity and hey come arrest us! We want to live in foster
homes so they can beat us and make us feel like we're nothing! YEA! WHOO!" he
jumps out of his seat and holds his hands up high, like he would if he won
something. "Come on Luca . its too dangerous . he shouldn't be allowed to work
there."
"Listen Duo, Trowa's a big boy he's not gonna do anything stupid
ok? Trust him" she says. 'Good lord I can't believe I have to try and convince
him of something I'm not even sure about.'
"Yea well. hey Luca can I
follow him just for today to make sure that he doesn't mess around, please?" he
begs.
". No Duo. you now have to go and get food for everyone . you and
Dee. I'll follow him. So get going the lotta you!" and as Duo and Dee get up
from there seats, she boots both of 'em in the arce.
"Oww!" Dee and Duo
both yelp, as they walk out the door.
